So, before reading her novels which were released from 1811 to 1817, in the following order :  Sense and Sensibility, Pride and Prejudice, Mansfield Park, Emma,  Northanger Abbey, Persuasion, I decided to go back to her teenage years, reading Love and Friendships, and other early works.

Movie - King Kong

Year : 1933

Country : USA
Language : English

Duration : multiple. Original 1h40. (I watched a truncated 1h25 version).

This is a pretty horrible movie… i know it’s from 1933 and used technologically advanced animation of Kong, and his multiple fights, and is considered one of greatest movies out there but I can’t appreciate most of this feature.

One, it’s a macho, cond
escending piece of s***, right from the early scenes with the director who wants go fetch himself a girl to appear in his movie even if he has to marry her.., just so she could fulfil the public’s wishes for romance. (for those who haven’t seen it, this is a movie about a guy who wants to film a movie…and ends up, well, in the trash).
Two, the screaming actress is just plain awful, jeez, I had to lower the volume and even mute it… it keeps the audience in front of a fact : this woman cannot even try to save herself and needs a man to get her out of harm’s way, and otherwise she has to SCREAM…
Three & Four, I disliked the actors’ voices… as well as the music, oh gosh.
Five, the fact that humans would back then and still now capture and display an animal they think has to be ‘’thought fear of them’’ and make money is horrible, and this movie tells you that it indeed is a bad idea…
Six, corny lines, including the last one. Lame ending.
The original duration is 1h40, restored is 1h44, the dvd I borrowed is 1h35, and it’s plenty… I fast forwarded several times and finished in less than 1h15. I shan’t watch this again.
