Duration : 1h32

I usually like James Stewart movies, but I have to say that this time around, I'm a bit disappointed. Indeed, at times, this movie was quite obnoxious. For instance, Mrs. Harriet Mason critics towards Jane Mason are unfounded, I felt strong antipathy from Lucile Watson I really wanted her out of the picture.

The movie starts off with the newlywed couple, and from half comical announcements to his boss, and then to his mother, the story around John & Jane Mason becomes quite tragic and turns a life threatening situation: their baby’s severely sick. Through this, everyone grows, relationships deepen but I felt that this was done too fast, there was very little emotional implication, because the movie turned too long on other unimportant stuff, that by the time It got to the chore of it, it was almost finished, meaning the last segment of the story was rushed, which is a shame, really.

The music, sucked, although I didn’t really expect much better…
An hour & half, of sometimes entertaining, sometimes bordering on boredom, that’s really too bad, because the couple James/ Carole was quite attaching, and in spite of character growth, it’s not enough for me to watch this again, thus I must score it on a medium 5/10, possibly even a 4, oh my, I never thought I’d give such a low note to any Jimmy movie!

  1. I find this unfortunate because the scenario could make a good movie , or at least amusing. I understand your disappointment, especially since you love other movies . ^^

  2. Yes, I think the director wasn't ready to make a bigger drama out of the initial idea... oh well, can't love them all, can we ? (one could wish)
