A crew playing the dirtiest game, terrorizing a blind woman in her home! But, she's not an ordinary woman! She’s Audrey Hepburn, as Susy, a very resourceful woman who happens to "see" more than what one could imagine.  What are Richard Crenna (Mike), Jack Weston (Carlino) & Alan Arkin (Roat) after?

Amazing acting & Henry Mancini's score serves superbly this scary thriller, which was also well directed by Terence Young.

We must render to Caesar his due, this movie is based on a play by Frederick Knott.

For obvious reasons, this movie, which contains, I quote "moderate violence & threat" has been rated for about age 12 & above in most countries, some even 18... don’t tell me I didn't warn ya - it's mostly psychological & emotional violence, but there are more graphic scenes too. But, If I, extremely sensitive, can watch this, then you probably can & have seen much worse...

Wait until dark... in the media

The zone 2 dvd I have is from the UK. The movie has been well transferred, I saw no flaws. It was kept in its original mono sound, but it's already plenty scary ! It'd be nice to have also a 5.1 option, but please, no remakes ! Just a collector's edition with more than the bonuses offered on the current one, which are very few :

"a look in the dark" - Alan Arkin & producer Mel Ferrer reminisce about the making off the film (8 minutes & change)   a few trailers (please don't watch the "warning" one before you watch the movie, it gives away too much ! )

 and...

that's all !

Update : a bluray edition has just been released, in the USA. From first information, it should be all region. ASIN B01LT015H4, or EAN 0888574451400, offering the movie in fully restored 1080p HD, in its original color, and aspect ratio 1.85:1, 16X9 widescreen.
Sound : DST-HD MA 2.0 Mono.
Image and sound (quality 4.5 & 4, out of 5, according to blu-ray.com) should be massive improvements over the DVD.

Subtitles : English SDH. (nothing else for the non-anglophones)

Special features remain still very small, the very same as the above dvd.

& if you don't want to read any spoilers, stop here !

If you don't mind having some spoiled ideas, than I'll let ya know that this is definitely a women empowerment movie, not giving up to the old cliché of the woman fainting as soon as trouble starts & a man saving her & they live happily ever after, roll credits...
that's all I'll say about it... for now...
