I finally ordered this beautiful sketchbook with Alan Lee's works for the LOTR movie trilogy, after having followed its price drop ever-so-slowly from over 30 € to 25 to 18,60 and decided it was time to complete our set and that this was a very good price which probably won't be matched again.
It was released in 2005, 2 years after the completion of the trilogy and includs Alan Lee's sketched artwork for the movies, in a medium sized book 19,9 x 1,8 x 25,7 cm

Alan was a natural choice to work on the film conceptual art, as his drawings had already been used for Lord of the Rings, the Hobbit, and the Children of Hurin books.

For information, the extended trilogy bluray boxed set includes interviews with Alan and John Howe, and tells on the process of finding them both and their artistical endeavours which are an integral part for this masterpiece.
