I'd like to extend the prompt from Man to humanoid. Thus Humanoid V gods. 

Picard has to plea for an officer's life to an alien, worshipped as a god by a society ready to execute the officer. At some point, Picard's bowed to, sharing orbit with "god", in TNG Justice.

Ferengi prayer (DS9- Body Parts) involves bribing the deity. Much like all the candle lighting in churches, really (they cost money, and all human religions involve money, in one way or another).

I wanted more than one example from Trek, to showcase that so many stories talk about this topic - I wasn't even comprehensive. Many times, high tech = deity to people is the general approach in the Saga.
