The year is 2488; many cataclysms reduced the human population by 80% and changed the face of the world.
During an auction, an American historian, Emma, discovers a manuscript dating from 2004. It tells a love story between a French woman - France Moreau - and a Greek artist - Evridiki Thasseli.
